Hi there,
We are going to Nha Trang for our honeymoon in September (I probably should have asked this question together with my earlier question to this post) and I was wondering whether someone can recommend middle to high range accommodation on the beach?
Thanks!

My wife and I stayed at the 52 Tran Phu Hotel in Nha Trang.
52 Tran Phu St. Phone 058-524228/524229.
It was right on the beach and for $20US a night it was a very nice room with a balcony over looking the beach.
Staff was friendly and rooms was nice and clean. Price included breakfast. Also has a lift/elevator.

Just to clarify, nothing is directly on the beach, a 4 lane boulevard separates the Hotels from the beach, though they are BEACFRONT.
The Ana Mandera is the only property directly on the beach, at south end, and is about $260 night...
Ticotim is right. There are no hotels on the beach. The closest you will get is across the street from the beach.

Hey Tim THANKS for that clarification.
It is good of the Vietnamese not to build "directly" on the beach.

The Golden has very comfortable rooms with ocean views for $25 a night and the staff is super-friendly. Price includes breakfast. Sorry, I don't know their address or phone number but it's on the main hotel drag and anyone will know how to find it.
I would second 52 Tran Phu Hotel. I stayed there 3 years ago on the top floor(3rd) on the corner for only US$10 a night. I understand that it has gone up since then. Room was great and view was awesome.

Re. 52 Tran Phu hotel...per 2-3 recommendations on this board...my friend and I booked a room here about 1 1/2 weeks ago while in saigon and were told this was the last available room. Upon checking in the room was pretty gross...it clearly hadn't been dusted...smelled of mold and one of the beds was infested with bugs. We found another room elsewhere and upon returning to the 52 tran phu...we told them we would not be staying because the room was unacceptable. My friend...who speaks vietnamese...bickered back and forth with them for 10 minutes...apparently they were demanding 100000 dong for them hoding the room for us and now not having anyone to fill it with. I refused to pay...as this room wasn't fit for anyone...for $30 a night. Nonetheless my friend paid it and we left...and I was and still am mad about it. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
