I am travelling to Vietnam in August with my husband. Our tentative itinerary of 7 days is like -
15th Wed - Hanoi
16th Thursday - Halong Bay
17th Friday - Hanoi
18th Saturday - ??
19th Sun - ??
20th Mon - Hoi chi Minh
21st Tue - Hoi chi minh
22nd Wed - Hoi chi minh
Please help suggest which place to cover over the weekend - Hoi an or Hue or Dalat or Nha Trang?
Our interest is mix of both relaxation and adventurous. We are not into historical places.
Also suggest things to do / visit at the place you suggest
Thanks in advance.

If history doesn’t do it for you, skip Hue and Hoi An, I haven’t been to Dalat so can’t comment, and only go to Nha Trang if big resorts are your thing. Instead I’d recommend Ninh Binh or Can Tho.
Much as I would like to recommend Nha Trang, may I suggest Hue? The 'tomb tour' is very interesting and the first two 'tombs' were actually palaces which two kings lived in for up to four years before dying. The tour includes lunch and this in the afternoon visits in the Royal Palace, with internal structures bombed out by the US during the war but now being rebuilt. On the following day your could do a tour to Vinh Moc tunnels. These were not fighting tunnels like those outside Saigon, but rather refuges for an entire village to live in to avoid more US bombing.

I would do Hanoi 3 nights and a day trip to Halong Bay. Vietjet has a flight into Hue. You can then fly to Can Tho for one night and take a bus to HCMC. do 2 nights there instead of 3.

Hello,
this is my suggestion:
15th Wed - Hanoi
16th Thursday - Halong Bay - overnight train to Sapa
17th: Sapa tour & stay in Sapa
18th: Sapa - Hanoi in the morning & fly to Hoi An in the afternoon. Stay in Hoi An
19th Hoi An - Cu Lao Cham full day
20th Free time in the morning to relax & fly to Ho chi Minh in the afternoon
21st Mekong Delta full day
22nd Free time & fly to the next destination
I highly recommend Hoi An, such a cool place to wander around and quite stunning at night. I strongly discourage you from going to Nha Trang as I had some pretty horrible experiences there, but it's differnt for everyone, I'm sure. I've heard nothing but great things about Hue, but have not been myself.
