where to buy rolling luggage in brisbane or gold coast

Country forums / South-East Asia Mainland / Vietnam

I have been researching and I would like to buy a rolling backpack. It's hard to find a place that is helpful and can give the right advice. For example I went to a Strandbags shop (as I don't know where to go) on the gold coast and one of the rolling packs by high sierra didn't have a hip support strap/harness. I asked if she had any rolling packs with the hip harness and her reply was, you don't need it. I'm sorry, but if you have a need to put your bag on your shoulders, you do need it so you don't hurt your back.

Hey. i was looking into a roller backpack last year, and found one made by Caribee. this is it Fast Track

i found one at Camping Country (@ Maroochydore, Sunshine coast). however i enden up buying a 75l back pack by Caribee instead. pretty good quality.

hope this helps.

try luggagedirect.com.au
theyre in brisbane , west end

I'm sure there must be some shops in Queensland that sell Crumpler products.
Australian owned and made but not many Aussies know this brand.
Northface is nothing compared to this.

3

#3 that is one cooky site! some of their stuff looks good, i especially like how they show how much beer you can fit into each bag!

4

#2, I'm going to use luggagedirect as a fall back, because they're great for prices, just not advice
thanks and keep the ideas coming.

OP, i would just head into a camping store and get some advice and try on some packs. i got some excellent advice from camping country, i told them what i wanted and what i was doing, the lady talked me out of the roller bag (which was more expensive) and into a travel pack with a detachable bag. this is because i like walking alot, and the harness on the roller bag is not as good as that on the backpack, and where i would be heading has very few paved sidewalks and streets.

have a shop around, try on the bags, get something comfortable.

also check out this one

Withshoeson:
Just talked to a friend of mine in Europe: a Crumpler roller packpack costs more than 400 euro in Germany!

8

geez. well i guess you pay a premium for the life time warranty. they have a store in Adelaide St brisbane, next time im down there i think i might check them out.

but 400 euro, thats damn expensive! no way i would pay it, ill stick to my 200AUD bag. :)

I am wondering why did you post this on the Vietnam branch instead of the Aussie branch ?
Seems to me there are more Aussies in OZ then in Vietnam.

Hi there
I ordered a backpack via luggagedirect.com.au (blackwolf brand) it arrived 2 days after I paid for it .The outcome "excellent" great quality pack 70ltr with daypack for $120 it also included locks and rain cover.
Great buy!!
goodluck with your search

mikey- i put it on this branch coz it has a lot of hits and a lot of great advice for all sorts of things. Less idiots making useless remarks for a simple question.

12

When people use dehumaning terms to describe another, then that for sure makes him the very same thing he calling the other person.
It also exposes ones character .
Also, my question was a logical one, since you are shopping in OZ.
The only sort of thing that you mention was the luggage. I also, have used the Australia branch and it is just as busy will posting as this branch.
I loved your country and had a great time. Just glad that I did not meet many Aussies like yourself !

Very good point Mikey!
If everyone used this branch to do their local shopping then we would not have too many posts about SEA!!

Also to have a dig at someone who has always made polite, helpful posts for asking a valid question is a bit rude! You would have done better to ask this on the Australia branch.

Glad you enjoyed Australia Mike! :)

Crumpler is well known for their messenger and computer bags, as well as their small accessory bags (they have a design office in HCMC). If you want to buy an wheeled backpack, I'd look at some other brands that have more experience with these products like Eagle Creek or Osprey.

mikey your question is valid. but your remark was not "Seems to me there are more Aussies in OZ then in Vietnam". if you think she was calling you an idiot, then maybe you should think about what you did to offend her! could it have been your sarcastic/smartass comment?

to me your post is an attack at her, to humiliate her, instead of posting a helpful hint.

secondly,
she never said you were an idiot. she merely gave an answer to your question. and yet you went on with your second post, which if i were the op i would find more offensive than being called an idiot!

if you were trying to give advise or be polite, then maybe just a quick note that the Aust branch may reap more responses.

i have nothing against you mikey, and i have learnt and taken on board from some of your answers and pointers on other posts.

woa!! there.!!...I only responded to mikey, because I wanted that person to know that this branch is great. Thankyou withshoeson for seeing it correctly. Roadking95, how did it offend me?
And Mikey i didn't call you an idiot, sorry if it came across that way.
Thanks withshoeson about the black wolf recommendation. I rang the camping plus store on the gold coast and they said since they went to a recent camping and travel expo more up to date rolling backpacks will be coming through very soon. Very excited, coz there is not much out at the moment, especially ones with waist straps.
Sunriseplace That crumpler web site is crazy, so individual and creative.
