Where else can I visit if staying in Phu Qhoc?Country forums / South-East Asia Mainland / Vietnam
Hi My husband and I are planning a trip to phu quoc in March next year. Does anyone know where else we could get to on a day trip please? I wondered about Cambodia but think this is a 2 day thing from the looks of things... Thanks in advance :)
If you're willing to pay for the visas to enter Cambodia, that actually might be your best bet. Kampot is the closest great place you can reach from Ha Tien. If you had a private car with driver starting from the Cambodia side of the border, you could even include Bogor national park in a one day trip. | 1
Not convinced about the recommendation above. You'd need to allow about 4 hours each way which doesn't give you alot of time in Kampot and surrounds. That doesn't include any waiting times for transport connections. | 2
The main problem you face is getting to and from the mainland in terms of times to reach mainland and ferry times so sure you could visit the mainland but for one day I am tempted to suggest stay on the island | 3
Thank you both so much for your advice. :) | 4
you are welcome and thanks for responding | 5
Are there direct flights to Phu Quoc from Singapore? I looked on Skyscanner, and all seemed to go via Saigon, so that would be an obvious place to stop off and do some day trips, then relax on the beach. | 6
How much time do you have in Phu Qouc? If you ask me Phu Qouc is pretty boring and I wouldn't stay more than 3 days. The Mekong Delta, Cambodia and Hanoi is much more interesting. You can fly Phu-Qouc to Hanoi on Vietjet Air too. As others said the day trip doesn't really work except to Ha Tien which is a small town in the Delta. | 7
