Ventianne Bus Company going to Hanoi

I have heard and read horrific stories about this Ventianne - Hanoi bus route. Im now wondering are they talking about ONE single bus company or is just a coincidence? How many bus companies are there? If there is more than one, which one is the best and how can we book tickets? Is it really just Wednesday and Friday Depart?

Any travel expert willing to help us?

I think its just one bus company running on orange sleeper buses. I dont remember the company's name anymore. Its pretty good IMO. Ask your guesthouse to book the tickets for you.

According to seat61.com. the modern sleeper buses (with toilet) runs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. I took the bus from Hanoi to Vientiane on a Thursday.

I've been looking at this bus trip in Vientiane currently. As far as I can see it's all operated through one bus company but tickets can be bought from many many different agencies for slightly different prices.

Lots of departures and with varying standards. Tends to book up fairly quick as well (particularly at this time of year) so may want to get your tickets a couple of days before you want to travel.
