  • pavement food, food in the restaurant is expensive and not tastier / cleaner than pavement food, the Hanoian often eat in the sidewalk.

  • The best traditional dishes are: noodles, pancakes, sliced bread, pate bread, ... should pay the price before buying.

If lots of locals are buying then it's a good sign the food is good.

Take note of what the people in front of your are paying and offer the same bill. If you come across as a clueless foreigner you may be charged far too much.

Every group has its own dynamics, if you can't see the idiot then it's probably you.

certainly not forgotten. How could you forget some of the outrageous/ amazing/utter rubbish stuff he came up with

I used to keep some of the notifications of his "sayings" to make it easier to find contradictions as he did 180 degree turns

I am undertaking a vow of silence just in case
