Thanks I am glad you are moving there at the end of the year. I am planning to spend more time there too. It's a welcoming place for foreigners to live and work. Cambodians are at ease with foreigners and accept them as part of their city very quickly. The internet is good. Business for 12 months and work visas are easy to arrange and taxes are low.

What will you be doing in PP Mr. Chips?

All being well, I'm going to be starting a tourism related business there and spend my time between there and Siem Reap.

Best of luck to you! I recall Gordon Sharpless (owned Two Dragons in SR) voicing some cautions re entering the sorts of relationships necessary to do business in Cambodia. I have no idea what was involved or if those deals are still necessary. I'm assuming you're spending time on Khmer440. Certainly the redoubtable Henning Wessel did well in PP in the tourism business.

Thanks everyone, I've been doing my research and am aware of how things work, I'll just have to wait to see how it goes. Certainly, Henning was doing well in PP we met several times for beers prior to his untimely death, in fact I met mangoholic2 though Henning in PP a few years back. Business here in Thailand is aided a lot by who you know and I'm certain it is the same in Cambodia.
