Pailin

Hi: I would like to go over to Pailin from Battambang in a couple of weeks. I understand there is a bus that goes over there. I can't find out about any budget accommodation over there though ($10-$20/nt). I am looking for info on the bus (and road conditions) and budget places to stay, please. Also, does anyone sell or mine gems of any kind in or around Pailin any more? Thanks.

You can take a bus from Battambang to Pailin, it cost 4-5usd, the road condition is normal.
There are many GH just near the bus station, below 10usd/per night, with fan.So don't worried.

FYI, there's many stores in Pailin sell ruby, but most of them are fake...

I have twice spent a week in Pailin and enjoyed the place. Do not worry about places to stay there is (or was) quite a lot of choice and I too stayed opposite the bus station again assuming it has not moved. Road conditions from battambang were fine and do not forget you can enter/exit Thailand near by

As for gems just be careful unless you know what you are doing
