You've answered that already. The villages, the coast, trekking, scenery.

All easy to find. Trekking is good in the northwest of VN, closest to Saigon would be the Central Highlands or after crossing over to Ratanakiri province in Cambodia from Pleiku.

In the northwest of Cambodia there are some ruins that might be interesting.
