Mekong Express--> PP-Siem Reap and back

Country forums / South-East Asia Mainland / Cambodia

Hello fellow travellers,

I have a question and I hope you can help me answer it.

Is it possible to book bus tickets from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and back (with Mekong Express, as I've read they're the best) online?
I am arriving in PP and leaving for Siem reap next morning so I'm curious just how full these buses get in July? ( leaving PP for SR on July 2nd, going back from SR to PP on July 6th))

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Don't know if things have changed but we had no problems booking bus tickets on the Mekong Express after arriving on one of Thai Air Asia's sunrise flights from Bangkok. Our moderately priced hotel did the booking for us for the following morning and it included a free pickup transfer to their bus station. And they didn't charge any service fee either. Mekong's bus station is only a couple blocks from the less expensive Rhong Hung Kheang, also along the river front. It's not that far of a walk from the central tourist area along the riverfront to either.

Not sure whether you can buy a return ticket with Mekong Express, you can't with Capitol Tours. Just a small technicality though.

You can buy return tickets with Mekong Express.

You should have little problem booking a return ticket the day you arrive for the following day unless there is a group of you maybe as the beginning of July is still not that busy as the school holidays do not start until later in the month.

Return tickets are possible with Mekong Express, but not online. Don't worry, there'll be seats for you.

Hi,

Advice please.

We arrive horrid early in the morning (0900) at Phnom Penh International at the end of November - we want to get to Siem Reap the same day (by nightfall if possible) by bus. Can we get tickets for Mekong Express or whatever at the airport? can we get tickets for same day travel if we go to the bus station?

Any answer welcome.
