I looked in November for flights in March, and was able to fly from BKK to Koh Samui and then from Koh Samui to ho Chi Minh city for a total of about 3600 Baht. Now it appears that AirAsia doesn't fly to Koh Samui anymore, and I plan to be in Bangkok in less than 4 weeks. Is there a convenient airport to fly in and out of? When I tried Thai Airways and Bankok Air it was about $1000 US (33,000 baht) for the trip.

Please help! Surat Thani wasn't a great option either on Air Asia. Is there anywhere else to fly into now for cheap? I only have 3-4 days so I can't take the bus/train.

Thank you,

Airasia to Koh Samui?.. what were you smoking at the time?

The never did.. and it's unlikely they will.. in very long time..

Try Bangkok Air!

My bad...I guess I had looked at flights from Krabi back in november. I suppose I just assumed Koh Samui or Surat Thani had Air Asia flights since they are so highly traveled.

It's a shame that it's so expensive to get to Koh Phangan without taking bus/train. We only have a few days to see the islands and I'd rather go to Phangan/Tao than to Phi Phi/Phuket.

You can fly Air Asia to Surat Thani. You can fly either Bangkok Airways or Thai Airways to Koh Samui

Thai Airways is the other option to Koh Samui but they're not exaxctly cheap either.
