Hairdisaster in Vietnam - Help!Country forums / South-East Asia Mainland / Vietnam
I made the mistake of going to a local hairdresser in Hoian to get my cleaned and conditioned. The hairdresser used the wrong type of conditioner on my hair and washed it in such a manner that it has severly dreaded up and looks like a total birdsnest. I had to scream at her to stop as she was pulling large clumps out of my hair.
Did she end up charging you for that? | 1
I would call the large (4-5 star) hotels with hairdressers, they will be used to dealing with western hair! | 2

I too would recommend what SweetRose6 said- go to a proper hotel that may have more experience with foreign clientele. When I first moved to Asia in 1985, the stylists here in Japan rendered my hair to a cripsy, dry-grasslike perm and I had to wear a hat for 2 weeks. That experience inspired me to grown my hair down to my butt, and keep it straight as I have had it most of my life. Good luck with your next hair episode! | 4
Here we a go again...if I said once, I have said it 1000 times...do not go developing countries in opposite cultures for hair issues...even a basic haircut of a westerner by a asian is a risk, as they do not know how to handle western hair styles, growth patterns or even the types hair, of you have a Princes Diana style hair do, forget about it... | 5
Head for Bui Ross on Dong Du street (across from the Sheraton down about 100 meters just past Cafe Latin in D1). Lloyd is the owner and he'll set you straight. | 6
Be cheap and you get cheap. Simple. | 7
