from Ho Chi Minh to Bangkok: suggestions?

Country forums / South-East Asia Mainland / Cambodia

Hello,

We like to go next year, the end of March, to Cambodja for almost a month. We’re thinking to start in Ho Chi Minh City and end in Bangkok. Do you think that’s possible and interesting with the time we have? And do you have suggestions for an itinerary? We like a mix of culture, nature and just enjoy the way of life in the country. We like to use local transport and, unless it is necessary, we avoid to take a plane. It’s not our first time in Asia (Vietnam, Thailand and China), so I think we know what we can expect.

Thanks for any advice!

thats an ok little circuit. id go thru phnom penh and on to siem reap instead of out via koh kong. its easier and you can miss angkor! the journey itself is about 20 hours i think in total from hcmc to bkk overland. the trail is well worn and cambo even has decent buses. in aranyapratet they may even have buses waiting in the market area (b30?) from the border by tuk-tuk or b10 by public 'truck' :-)

will be HOT
