| borowski13:01 UTC20 Jun 2007 | I need to get from Ho Chi Minh City to Vientiane, and want to do it relatively quickly. I have found good flights with TigerAirlines to Udon Thani (via Singapore overnight) and have also found flights with Vietnam Airlines SGN-HAN-VTE but the VN website has NO PRICES! Will it be cheaper to just fly with Laos Airlines HAN-VTE?
Can anyone remember how much they paid for a flight like this? Or does anyone have any other recommendations?
Cheers

The cheapest price I could find for this flight on Australian websites is $A 228. My sister-in-law in Saigon says that the going rate there at the moment is $US 225. So it seems to be more expensive in Saigon itself.
You've asked about flying Vietnam Airlines to Hanoi and then Lao Airlines to Vientiane, but I don't know if it will be all that much cheaper. The Lao Airlines website lists their one-way fare from Hanoi to Vientiane as $US 115. Last time I flew Saigon-Hanoi (2 years ago) I think the ticket was getting close to $US100 (although someone will correct me if I'm wrong - memory's rather hazy here). If so, I don't think you'll really save much money by doing it this way.

I just did the Hanoi to VTE flight, it cost me $152 USD, that was thru a travel agent with Lao Airlines. The website lists the price ex-tax.
