Hello everyone.
I a uk guy and I am going to Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia in july. I was hoping to travel in the north of laos and then enter vietnam at the Sop Hun Tay Trang Boarder crossing. However as a 30 day visa for uk is over £70, according to their embassy, I was hoping to get the under 15 day free visa. However will it be possible to get that type of visa at this boarder post?
Thanks
Conor

The 15 day Vietnamese visa exemption is only in operation until (I think) the end of June. Last summer they renewed it at the last minute. I wanted more than 15 days, so got my visa in Luang phabang, pay in dollars, pay a bit more if you want it the next day. Very easy, no queues. I think l paid 45 dollars for next day pick up. If the Vietnamese don't continue the exemption for Brits, just pick up a visa in Laos. No problem entering overland and getting the exemption at any border, as long as it isn't withdrawn before you get there.
