Discovery Airpass

Country forums / South-East Asia Mainland / Cambodia

Having previously overlanded in and out of Cambodia I am keen to use the Discovery Airpass system offered by Bangkok Air in conjunction with its partners.Has anyone used this system who can give me some advice as the website is a bit ambiguous on sectors available .Also bookings cannot be done online(on their website at present)Also they state that you must book outside of Thailand.
The routes my family and I wish to fly are ChiangMai - Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang - Siem Reap, Siem Reap - Bangkok
I have had no luck with emails to Bangkok Air either.
Advice from pros on these sectors would be appreciated.

just start with the very basics: though its only in the BIO, youre from OZzieland: well, THAT the palce to get it all sorted out, by that old-fashioned thing from last century: the TRAVEL AGENT. also note, hat there is now a fuelsurcharge also on top, and that seats sold for that price are limited and often gone monthes advance in the very busy season

i used the discovery pass a few times and was very satisfied. the airpass has to be bought outside of thailand.
try to find, either on their website or through another search their representative in australia or a travel agent like bmta said.
once booked, it's still possible to change the dates if there are available seats in the same booking class, and you can even get a rerouting for a small surcharge. very reliable and relatively cheap (used them in 2005, 2006 and a few months ago)

Thanks for the feedback Webb,Valeriee & bmta.I took valeriee's advice and found that Flight Centre in Australia can handle these bookings.I'm probably getting too used to booking online instead of booking the old fashioned way i.e travel agent

I just emailed the office in Los Angeles and we went back and forth on dates and times. You have to be flexible with your schedule. They requested a personal check and issue e-tickets. Just got back from using these etickets last night...everything was kosher!

Would be cheaper to get single legs from local agents. Make sure you take advantage of their BKK lounge - free sandwiches, cakes, snacks etc
