Hey folks, anyone know anything about the new superhighway?

http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report-india-myanmar-thailand-highway-10-must-visit-pit-stops-on-your-road-trip-to-thailand-2121822

Does anyone have any updates on the status of the road? Is it finished? And, most importantly, is it bikeable? Thinking of a long-distance bike trip from Delhi back home here to Chiang Mai. Even if I don't bike the whole distance, will buses be available that will take my bike on board or strap it to the roof?

And (I understand this might be a naive question) since I'm cycling through certain parts known for them, wha are the chances of encountering a wild tiger? I would love to see one, I just don't want to get eaten by one. Is there any kind of pepper spray akin to bear spray to protect myself?

Regarding the crossing at the India-Myanmar border, read this thread working backwards from the most recent post:

Wild tigers are very rare, I think the chances of seeing one is pretty remote. India near the Myanmar border seems to be off limits at the moment.
