by boat from Siem Reap to Battambang

hi , is it possible to go by boat from SR to Battambang in December ? When yes, how long will it take and from where are they leaving. Do they leave every day ? In the morning ?

This trip is ALL about water levels. When you read the reviews, some people loved it (high water) or, hated it (low water) up to you. December is High Season for tourist, but also Dry Season, so your trip will depend on just how wet the Wet Season was. Try and check water levels before you book, and don't just ask tour operators, or anyone that makes money from your trip. Those folks will always say everything is great.

I've done that trip in Jan before and it was slow as the water levels were low but otherwise it was ok, I should say December shouldn't be much different.

The earlier in December the better. No way to know for sure in the month of July. If however, word reaches you while you are in Siam Reap that the level is low in places, do yourself a favor and take the bus.

The low water trip is just fine, until come to a point where the boats just can't go any further (or so the boatmen say). At this point the entire boat's content will be crammed onto a Toyota Hi Ace (or similar) and forced to endure one of the most uncomfortable journeys imaginable.

On my trip people were cut by overhanging shrubbery and one fell from the vehicle during the traverse over unimaginably bad riverine tracks..
