The Battambang chapter in the Lonely Planet guide mentions a book called Around Battambang by Ray Zepp, an American expat living in the region for a number of years.
Searching on Google, I came across this blog which also has a link to a copy of the text from that book. http://battambangbuzz.blogspot.com.au/2011/09/around-battambang-by-ray-zepp.html
Just thought it may be of interest to a few of the folks here.
I will be back in Cambodia in July and hope to spend some more time in Battambang. My father will be joining me also on this trip.

Good read. Thanks. I've been to Battambang a few times and worked there for a couple of months and I find it pleasant enough but I can't really rave about it as much as some people do.
