Balloons Over Bagan

Country forums / South-East Asia Mainland / Myanmar

Has anyone done this? Does anyone know if it is? Is it considered in bad taste? I would appreciate guidance about this. Thanks.

Charlotte

I should imagine it's a great experience, run by couple of English guys from Bath, too expensive for cheapskate like me though, on main rd past schwezigon temple on right hand side [LHside if coming from old bagan]

Mid october, there were no balloons, as there were no tourists. The centre running this is indeed located on the road between Nyaung U and Old Bagan.
But novemebr might have more tourists. The view must be fabulous.

A tad expensive, and I'm sure a little money flows back to the bad guys, but I wouldn't say it's in bad taste. As a notorious cheakskate, and a known avoider of the pleasures ephemeral, I haven't done it, but it sounds like a fun thing to do.

I can highly recommend it, if you have the money...

I hope you enjoy the photos!

If you got the cash, it would be very cool...Bagan is a endless vista of stupas and temples, not to mention the river at sunset....
