Air Asia cancels more Yangon flights

Country forums / South-East Asia Mainland / Myanmar

I awoke to an unpleasant e-mail this morning. Air Asia tells me they have canceled my flight for Saturday, the 17th of November and have rescheduled me for Monday the 19th. It looks like they are continuing with the Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule for a while.

(I want to be in Taunggyi on the 19th, so I have e-mailed them to put me on the flight on the 16th. The current available price for the 16th is higher. I hope they don't try to charge me a higher price to put me on a suitable flight because of their cancellation.)

I've booked the same flight and already rescheduled to 16th Nov without any extra charge.

Nice! Did you contact them by e-mail?

burner do you have their email address friend was booked yangon to BKK this morning with Thai transfer visa, check in told her it was invalid for connecting flight Japan 7th, then she goes to Thai Embassy and they say her transfer visa gives her 28 days she goes back to airport and they now charge her rebooking fee $27 to go onto Fridays flight . Their fault but now she has to pay and people waiting for her in BKK. want to email complaint

My BKK to Yangon flight for Sunday 4 November was canceled last week. They automatically rescheduled me for the next available flight (Monday, 6 November). I think you're correct: they're still on the Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule.

5

Yes, still Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule...
If you check their schedule it says "daily".. but when you try to book a date during November.... only Monday-Wednesday-Friday flights are shown.

Does anyone know if other airlines cancelling and/or cutting back on flights? Am specifically interested in Bangkok Air and AIr Mandalay. Thanks so much!

Until now, Air Mandalay and Bangkok Airways have now altered their flight schedules. Only AirAsia has reduced frequency and Myanmar Airways (Int.) and Air Bagan have pretty much stopped flying (their own air-planes anyway).
