Hey! I am trying to put together an itinerary for 10 days in SE Asia in July. I have a pretty good budget so am fine flying from place to place. I have been to Singapore, Koh Phangan, Koh Samui & Chiang Mai which I LOVED but I want to try something new this time. I have been looking into Bangkok (2-3 days) & Siem Reap (2-3 days). And I am looking for somewhere for the center of the trip - maybe a bit more relaxing than the two on either end. I looked into Ha Long Bay & Hanoi as an option but it seems like it might be too much added travel/work. Does anyone have any recommendations? Two options might be Phu Quoc or Luang Prabang -- does anyone have insight?

Thank you,

Ashley

July will not be the best time of year for Phu quoc, so I'd go for Luang phabang. Three countries in 10 days is a lot, and will involve a lot of airports. If possible, fly straight on to Siem reap (or wherever you choose) on arrival in Bangkok, as it will give you an extra travel free day. Fly direct to next destination, and save Bangkok for the end of your trip, assuming that is your departure point. That way you are close to the airport well before your flight home, in case of delays.

Why not just spend the whole time in Cambodia? Flying between 3 countries doesn't sound relaxing to me.

if you have 7-8 days including Siem Reap, you could include Phnom Pehn and a beach island off the coast. Phnom Pehn might be the most charming capital city in SE Asia, plus you have the genocide sights there, if you can allow for a serious day in your vacation.

Then there are the beach islands like Koh Rong, Koh kong, etc. and with a connecting flight you could fly to Bangkok from Sihanoukville in Cambodia.
