Hi!

Can anyone tell me what kind of computers (OS) are over Myanmar in cyber cafes. I will carry large SD card over 64 GB and portable discs around 1 TB. I found that that size of media are not supported by Win XP to transfer my photos from SD card. If there are Win 7 or higher then is OK. Since this will be my first visit I don t know what to expect there especially in small towns.

I have a train booked to Myitkyina from Mandalay on Wednesday 11, arriving Thursday 12.

I need to be back in Mandalay for Monday 16 at 6am for a boat I have booked.

I don't think this is enough time to see both Myitkyina and visit Indawgyi Lake, so I'd like to know if anyone has done either or both and can recommend which one to do?

Any information would be much appreciated - also regarding up-to-date travel information if possible.

does anyone know, whether it is possible to catch a bus to Mandalay from Tachileik? I don't expect that there will be a direct connection but I am reading mixed messages wrt traveling overland in general. Don't want to be stuck at the boarder right after immigration. I am currently in Chiang Mai waiting to collect my visa at the Burmese embassy next week.

Hi,

I obtain E-visa for Myanmar by Myanmar government via internet. It is 28 days tourist visa. I will land in Bangkok and have had plan to enter to Myanmar over land. In E-visa the port of entry is Myawaddy as I choose. I found cheap flight from Bangkok so I consider to enter to country with aeroplane- port of entry Yangon. Does any one know if you can change port of entry?

Hi guys, Im planning to tour south myanmar in june ,
is the border crossing at Htee Kee doable in rainy season?
I did it last year in january but I'm concerned if the road could be closed because rain or flood
and remain stuck in dawei.
Any experience?

Hi all, I know there are a few threads on this but nothing very recent.

I'm in Myanmar and my Visa is valid until 12th January. Unfortunately I was ill and stuck in a hotel in Mandalay for six days, so I'm running out of time. I'd like to overstay my visa by around five days, so that I can see the south, then cross at the Dawei/Kanchannaburi border crossing.

As I understand it, leaving won't be a problem I'll just have to pay the $3 plus $3 a day fine.

I have an int'l flight in Feb (from Singapore) landing at Terminal 1 and plan to transfer to a domestic flight (to Mandalay). I understand that as of December, all domestic flights now operate out of the new Terminal 3. Does anyone have tips on the transfer from T1 to T3? The airport's press release just says it's "alongside" T1, so I assume it's an easy walk...an internal transfer would be even better.

Has anyone else had trouble uploading photo for visa online application ? Although file is only 44kb it insinuates file is too big and should be 2mb or less? Any clues would be helpful. Thanks

My wife and I will be traveling from Yangon to Mawlamyine at the end of this month. I am seeking a recommendation whether to make this trip by bus or train, and why. My understanding is that the train trip will take longer, but we are staying in downtown Yangon, close to the train station.
