In a few days time I was planning on crossing the border overland from Thailand with my bicycle and travelling westwards from there. I know the procedure as I have done it before.

I will be bringing USD with me. Is it best to change all of this at the airport on arrival or are there money changers in towns (heading to Bagan, Inle, Nagpali, Yangon)? We have an international flight (to Hanoi) six hours after arriving in Yangon on a domestic flight from Bagan. I know we'll need time to get over to the international terminal and store our luggage and also need to be back at least two hours prior to our international flight. Just wanted to say how impressed I am with Myanmar's Evisa service (UK passport and UK citizen/address). The form was straightforward and I had no probs uploading my photo. The picture was accepted even though it was slightly smaller than the outline on the form.
I applied yesterday about 4pm UK time, I had an instant email confirmation of the application and payment, and the approval letter was in my inbox this morning.
Think my days of queuing outside the embassy in Bangkok might well be over;-)…
