Can anyone name any good tours of Myanmar / Burma? I’m seeking temples and monasteries in particular and Burmese culture. Keen to be off the main tourist trail, to eat Burmese food all the time. Happy with broken down hotels but don’t want energetic trekking. More interested in Buddhist locations than in hill tribe villages. I am planning to spend 1.5 years for a work in Myanmar, probably would be by next November 2016, in which i would like to ask if there would be any shared apartments there and how would be the prices per month ... for a single guy ..i dont mind with any type of decent persons (M/F) ...
Despite, any person is planning to move to Myanmar, and looking to share and rent an apartment, i would love to correspond and plan our move at same time during November & or December 2016

We want to hire a motorbike and guide for a couple of days travel around Mandalay. On the Smartraveller website it advises that it is illegal to ride on Australian or International license and you must have a Myanmar drivers license. Can anyone advise if it is easy to get a Myanmar license (I wouldn't have thought so) or what other bike riders normally do?

Do NZ Telecom or 2degrees phones roam in Myanmar? I know roaming's expensive but I only plan to make emergency calls and not use data.

We (we are 2 persons) will only spend 1 day in Mandalay arriving early morning by night bus.
That is why we are looking for a serious guide who will be able to get us at the bus stop, bring us to an hotel for ending the night, and then guide us around Mandalay for the day.
So any advice on guides would be helpful with : how to contact him, and also how much it would cost.

Hi,
We will arrive early morning (by night bus) in Kalaw, and because we will start our trek Kalaw-Inle the following day, we will have a full day to use to visit around.
We are thinking to use that day to visit the Pindaya caves, and others places of interests.
If you have suggestions of places to visit, it would very nice.
Also can we do this on our own during that day ? or is-it better to have a guide to help us ?

Hi all - we are planning a trip to Myanmar in November 2016. Do we really need "brand new, crisp, unfolded, pristine" US currency for it to be accepted? Just trying to make a plan on how to accomplish this.... any insight would be greatly appreciated!
