I´m about to change my hard-earned swedish kronors to dollars for our trip and am still uncertain about how much to bring.
Is 100 USD per day enough for the four of us? (two adults and two kids)
I doesn´t include domestic airfare or the airfare going in and out of Myanmar, but will it cover hotel or guesthouse (either two rooms or a family room), meals, drinks, snacks, transfers to and from airports, expressboat from Mandalay to Bagan, renting taxi for all-day excursion, tickets to museum, buying…
Hi,
I searched on the TTF and the FAQ but didn't find.
We are looking for infos about how to cross the border from China to Myanmar. It seems impossible without taking expensive tour. Do someone have more infos about this ?
Thanks.
hi folks,
i am in yangon right now and i have 3 weeks in myanmar. i want to do the "normal" trail (Mandalay, Bagan, Inle, Kalaw ...)
At the end of my stay I would either go south (Kyaikhto, Mawlamyaing) or west (Ngwe Saung Beach or Ngapali Beach).
- some people told me that the west is not so interesting during rainy season. what you think about it?
..and trying to plan trip to Myanmar. To get a visa from UK, it seems that you have to say where you are staying and have already booked into one of the government hotels. This is obviously not what I want - how can I get around this? Secondly, I plan to fly in and out of bangkok - time tight - with Air Asia. Do I have to fly both into and out of the same place? Yangon it would be if this is the case, however I have just read that it is possible to fly out of Mandaly to Chaing Mai - what is the…
Hi there,
In November, my husband and I are going to be visiting Burma for the 2nd time. The first time we visited all of the major attractions: Yangon, Inle, Kalaw, Mandalay, and Bagan. We had such an amazing time, that we are headed back. We are trying to put together our new itinerary. We are into trekking and eating (good thing we do something to burn off all those calories). We also have 2 weeks in country. Our itinerary is below. I have a few questions:
1) is it worth checking out the…
Has anyone been in Myanmar during the Festival of Lights, held in September?
Is it fantastic? When does it finish this year?
Thankyou kindly.
Just wanted to let you all know there is a hotel in New Bagan that has just been taken over by the Inle Princess Resort managment team, opening in October.
They say they have the biggest pool in Bagan and nice gardens and whatnot.
I know the Inle Princess staff, really hospitable.
Not sure how much the rooms are and that sort of thing but the contact information is as follows:
No.A 1-2/B, Hotel Zone (4), Gangar Quarter, New Bagan, Myanmar

hey.
lot of places in Myanmar need a special permit. wondering how to obtain permits for some . one of them is Mogok, for example. Any idea how the procedure works (where to apply, time involved, average costs eventually ) ? Is it absolutely necessary to travel those places through an authorized guide, or independent is possible for some of them?
Thanx.
