Hi
We've just arrived back today from Myanmar so our expierences:

It's very very quiet, everybody is waiting for more tourists. Of the 50 restaurants in Inle only 5 have customers.
Usually we were the only ones in the hotel sometimes 1 or 2 more.
People are very very friendly, nicest people we have ever met on our vacation.
There is no trouble watsoever everyone is going about their business.
Bamar food is pretty greasy so check it out first. It will save you an upset stomic
Air Asia
Still…
has anyone dealt with lastminutemyanmar.com??? their prices for hotels are much lower than other online agents, almost too good to be true. any other suggestions besides asiahotels, asiarooms, precisionreservations??? thanks in advance.
i am wondering if overstaying visas is still okay in myanmar
i have 3 months in se asia and no matter what i try to cut out of my myanmar trip i can't get it to less than 5 weeks....and that is moving more frequently than i would like
i am wondering if 2 weeks plus, at this time, would be pushing it somewhat...
if you think it might be, what is the possibility of flying back to bangkok and applying immediately for another visa...do you think i could get two back to back?

there are many places i am…
I'm heading for Myanmar next month, hitting the usual stops. Should I start in Yangon and work my way up to Mandalay or the other way around? Does it make any difference in terms of travel times?
the documents stapled into our passports came back stamped 'package tour' although we gave no indication on the application that we would be in a tour group. will this hamper independent travel in any way??? also, trying to figure out what's needed to charge camera batteries in burma. don't know whether the wall plugs take flat or round prongs and if a converter is required, from u.s. standards. thanks for your help.
Hi there,
I will be around in Burma for 3 weeks - considering that I want to go diving for 2 days in Ngapali, trekking for 3 days from kalaw to inle lake, balloon ride over bagan, 2 domestic flights, rather taxis than bus (expect the longer journeys over 7 hours), living in mid-range hotels, eating in mid-range restaurants, ... how much money (in USD) will I have to budget AND (perhaps more importantly) which ratio due I generally have to change to kyat and what to leave in USD???
Thank you so…
I am a british citizen travelling to Myanmar from Europe via Bangkok...do i need to apply for Visa before hand or can I sort it out in Bangkok (i only have a few hours before flight to Yangon) or in Yangon itself?
Thankyou!
i guys! I really really need some quick tips, here goes: I am going to my best friend's wedding in Yangon on the 4th January, I arrive in Bangkok on the 1st january and would like to get to Yangon as quickly as possible ideally... I have just looked at flights from Bangkok to Yangon with various airlines including Thai Airways and they are ludicrously expensive!!! nearly 250 pounds!
do you think there are better/cheaper ways to get to Yangon from Bangkok other than flying? I have been told no but…
Hello everyone,
I have three questions
1. How long does it take to get a Myanmar visa in Kunming?
2. Should I go directly through the consulate, or are there well-connected travel agents who can organize everything a lot faster?
3. What's the approximate price of a one-way Kunming-Mandalay plane ticket, and where is the cheapest place to buy these?
4. Will I have problems entering Myanmar if I don't have an outward ticket from the country?
Thank you so much for any answers!
