I am very curious why there are no updates from anyone that came back in the last 2 weeks from Myanmar?
It seems strange to me this lack of first hand info.
My plans called for a 4 week trip there...but I've cancelled it due to the current situation: some web sites are reporting road blocks and army "asking" for food..which tends to put more presure on the normal people that might result in even more unrest.

I haven't been to Myanmar lately, but if I had plans to go I wouldn't change them. There's no reason to believe it's not safe for tourists even though the US State Dept. recommends only essential travel there. I have been there many times and I would only not go if the Burmese disallowed it.
