I'm flying from bangkok in Yangon, and would like to know where the best place is to get U.S. money before I land?
Thanks

What? Please reread you post and post again. Are you trying to get $ in Bangkok? Are you trying to get $ in Yangoon? Or other? I'm not sure what you are asking and thus will not try to answer your post.

I'M asking ... before I arrive in Yangon , where in bangkok can i obtain US dollars.
Sorry for the confusion.

Hopefully you're still in Canada and if so the answer is your bank - crisp new bills with no creases, tears, etc. If you're in Bangkok, well, start now at a bank. Explain what you need. It really is hard to pass a creased, etc. bill anywhere in Burma.

In order to buy USD in any country other than your own.. You will need to make a drawdown on your funds in the currency of that country.. in a bank or at an ATM.. then negotiate an exchange rate into your currency of choice... in this case USD.. Obviously you need to shope around for a good rate and obviously there will be some bank commisions to pay.

Many banks and currency exchanges will exchange different currency into US dollars. You can probably even do it at any International airport. They will gladly take your Canadian money and change it to US dollars for a FEE.

Poster 3 is right- I'd also vote 1 for your bank or a money exchange in Canada. You pay one exchange rate, CAN to US, and you have the money in your pocket. Problem solved, enjoy trip.
If you are actually in Bangkok now, then go to any money exchange. They will charge you to convert CAN to baht, then again to buy the US- if they have any.
Watch those notes- no CB prefix, clean, no marks or creases, and US presidents with big heads, not the older notes with smaller heads.
