SS - what are you on about....??

Hi rivaltribal,
If you want to get the most out of your travel, you need to feed all the information about the place you are going to visit. I don't think tripadvisor can't able to give best and up-to-date information on Mergui Archipelago. I agree with that you don't need to buy travel package to visit Kawthoung and other parts of Myanmar.
It'd be great if you have a personal travel assistant to arrange for you everything. :)
"SS - what are you on about....??"
Can't show you the links as all the self advertising posts have now been removed here, but he has started up on TA but moved his location from Myanmar to Singapore, all the initial posts linking to an Agency, darn it.
SS

#11 - sorry bud....TA actually has far more, and up-to-date posts, about the very south than LP....
Sounds like you are just a tout/agent....
#12 - SS..sorry, I thought you were talking about me...
Hi R/T,
I have no idea what has progressed because I just woke up. my email is (removed) feel free to discuss ideas. I have travelled through places like Sumatra and Sulawesi so off the beaten track is ok (traveller not tourist). Mae Sot? just seems so far to get to plus it will eat into my visa days.
I just traveled last month from Yangon via
golden rock, Hpa-an, Mawlamyne, Ye, Dawei, Myeik, Kwathoung ( Ranong)
I used Boats, trains and Bus's
easy to do and great part of Myanmar
If you wish to enter at Kwathoung and head north you need a visa in advance
take the fast boat to Myeik ( 7 hours or so)

Michael geek is wrong;
You do NOT need book hotels or travel in advance, its very easy once u arrive.
ONLY placed i pre booked a hotel was in golden rock
Note; the Hotel Grand Jade in Myeik is a fantastic hotel ( its $50 ) but worth it,
other places i stayed were 18,000-32,000 kyat /night

Michaelgeek is very likely a tout/agent...so of course he suggests you need to use an agent.

Whenever I travel, I always plan ahead to get the most out of it. I even don't want to waste time online finding best deals. Actually I normally use some local expert to book for me paying just 10 to 30 USD to plan everything for me. I'm not the type of person who just visit the normal places where 99% of people go, book hotel on the spot, take the seat in the last row of the bus because there was no seat left when I reach the bus station. By using local expert, I saved time and money on my last trip to Southern part.
I'm sure that 99.99% of people in Myanmar never reached to the private white sand beaches in Ye, Myeik and Kawthoung. I can challenge those people who claim that they've visited the places and know every good part of that area they've reached. We can travel to normal places just by finding facts online. But we cannot to hidden places.
How can someone experience homestay in Myeik experience like local just by doing it online?
I have been to all those places and i also did a 2 month live aboard diving in the seas way back in 1988
White sand beaches in Kwathoung?? dont think so, been to Kwathoung many many times as i live 5 hrs from there> on nearby islands maybe but not the mainland.
You go somewhere an experience it on ur own terms you do not need someone to show u places, talk to locals is all u need.

Hi kamalarichard
It's not on the mainland. But I've reached to this very private places in Kawthoung with the help of local expert. I really satisfied a lot with my last trip to Myeik and Kawthoung.
Different people have different views on expert advice. So we can disagree with others but I don't think I deserved to be accused by someone(rivaltribal). I'm here to help people who need a little bit of travel advice based on my own experiences. But I really wish everybody to have memorable experiences.
When I'm in China, I lost my way and it took 5 hours to get back to my hotel because I can't speak Chinese. It's definitely not the enjoyable night at all in my Lijiang City trip.
