In response to all this silliness, one posting stood out as helpful. Minglababya has it right. A Myanmar lady is not going to travel around Myanmar with a foreigner unless there is a professional relationship between them.

A guide with some kind of medical training is the most obvious choice, and a nurse or other medical professional would be the other, assuming that your issues are really medical in nature.

If you talk to women guides in Myanmar, ALL of them have stories about foreign men trying to up the ante on the 'relationship. I know a guide who told me that a Geman man told her that in Germany that men were not allowed to sleep in a bed without a woman, or something stupid like that. They were in Bagan at the time, and she found him a male guide and took a bus back home to Yangon. Other stories like that, too. Thailand just a quick plane flight away if you're looking for that stuff.

I really do not think that this is what Minglaba was talking about. If I am correct, feel free to PM me with your relevant info and I'll see what I can do.

I understand Mingalaba, that it would be a security to have someone with you .
I wonder if you could employ a male, a woman in 40's or 50's, or even a married couple?

Thanks to all who answered. I guess the reason I wouldn't want a man to travel with is how I feel about that. Personally when I see a western man with a young man or boy I think they are gay. Even traveling like that in Myanmar may be acceptable, but for me I couldn't do it. I would rather someone think I am a lecherous old man preferring young pretty Burmese girls as companions then to think I am after men or boys. My thing is I worry about what other people think and I hesitate to offend anyone. Thanks again

The fact that you think there's a difference shows how pathetic you really are.

Are you saying that someone who would write such crap is capable of being enlightened? I don't see you enlightening him, why don't you give it a try?
