Has anyone had trouble changing Thai Baht in Mandalay / Rangoon?

You might be able to change baht with one the street moneychangers in Rangoon (Yangon) near Scott Market but the registered bank-linked moneychangers that have opened in the past few years used to only change US dollars, Euro or Singapore dollars.

No not true, you can change Thai baht at airport and money changers in Yangon.

main currencies are US$, Euros, Thai Baht and Sing. $s. Some others can be changed but I would not bank on it. Read Farmers no longer change AUD. £s possible but difficult, best to take USD or Euros. Make sure notes are in good condition, no ink, no tears and not creased.

Well I read several posts saying they no longer changed it last year, maybe they have started again?

Here is one from Oct 2016: "Just got back from myanmar.

Farmer exchange at Yule is closed

Farmer exchange on pyay Rd will no longer change Aud"

Think they meant Sule.

And this guy got stuck as everywhere closed for a week due to holidays: https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g294190-i9408-k9356123-o10-About_changing_AUD_to_USD_EUR_in_Myanmar_april_2016-Myanmar.html

Best to stick to the main 4 currencies.

So one place was closed, doesn't mean they wouldn't change $oz if they were open...and the one who had issues with places being closed was due to holidays..unavoidable.. nothing to do specifically with FEB changing $oz or not.
I HAVE changed $OZ both of my last 2 trips, plus this current one.
Best to stick to commenting on things you actually have some experience with, rather than misleadingly comments.
Best to stick to the main 4, IF you are from a country whose currency can,t be changed there.

Maybe you missed it "Farmer exchange on pyay Rd will no longer change Aud"

Also I have read other reports saying Farmers in Yangon no longer change AUD.
