Thank you so much for all your suggestions, but it seems the only way is to use western union at a post office so that's the way to go!

As I said, it is usually cheaper doing it online. Online costs AU$25 to send AU$1000 as an example.

Thanks westwood. I did try online as you suggested, there is no facility to send US dollars from Australia, western union call centre advised me to try their branch at a post office. thanks.

I expect you will have trouble trying to send a $$US payment to Myanmar via WU whether online or at a Post Office (the receiver has to collect the payment from the WU office, and unlikely they will have $US to hand out..).
Tell the company you will pay the deposit (and a deposit is all you should be paying for any tour company), and you can send the payment as Kyat via WU.
