Facilities?

You just pay the fee, don't you?

I am hoping so but you know what it's like, just need to make sure as we are both in our 70's and don't want any hassle. Thanks.

You can rest assured that they will quite happily relieve you of your Dollars at ANY departure point from the country.

Hopefully this response is a little less. vague...
I have seen one post of someone who did pay the ovwrstsu fee at Myawaddy. I haven't myself, but have paid it before at Taichileik...so paying the fee is possible at land border points. Maybe not all of them (eg. Tamu) but I am sure you will have no problem paying it at Myawaddy.

Last time I went through Myawady to Mae Sot (very recently) a German couple had just overstayed their visa by about a month and paid the fine at the border. I think exit immigration simply assesses the fine amount and it's paid on the spot then an overstay stamp is issued in the passport.

Personally I wouldn't recommend overstaying anywhere in the world, but in Myanmar it isn't considered a big deal and doesn't seem to be a reason for rejecting a future visa application. Not yet, anyway.
