Hello friends!
I am meeting a friend in SE Asia for a little over two months during the summer of 2016. In total we are hoping to travel to Myanmar, China, and India (in no particular order). As of now I am not sure where I will be meeting her (as this will likely depend on the order of countries we travel to first). Currently I am trying to figure out the best route to travel. We are on a buget, so we would like to avoid traveling by plane as much as possible and would perfer to travel by land.
First, what is the best way to enter into Myanmar by land (in general)? I have read that Thailand is the easiest way, but I just wanted to hear a second opinion. Second, I have read online that visas into Myanmar mandate that travelers must exit the country at the same way (i.e. from the same border) they entered. Is this true?
Third, is it possible to enter China from Myanmar? I have read that it is possible but that it requires a tour guide or a special visa. Is this true? We are not interested in paying for any tour guides or private transport services whatsoever.
Also, since my friend is currently in SE Asia, how would you reccomend getting a visa?
Considering our desired desitinations (China, Myanmar, India) what travel routes would you reccomend???
Thanks!
