I am planning to get to Mrauk U from Bagan by bus via Magway Early this December. I need to get to Mandalay after that to complete my Journey but would rater avoid the 27 Hours bus ride. I read on the 2015-16 high season schedule of Air KBZ on airmyanmar.com Flight Center that there is a direct flight (k7-227) font Sittwe to Mandalay but can't get confirmation there or on KBZ web site. Anyone can Help? After reviewing most air Line, KBZ seems to be the only one offering that flight.

I cannot find a Sittwe-Mandalay flight on the KBZ website.Maybe the Agent website has errors?

There is a daily flight Sittwe/Yangon at 15.05 most days but that is too late for a Mandalay connection but , however, on some days this KBZ flight runs
7Y/414/K7423 SITTWE-YANGON 1005 1125 which will give you time to connect to Mandalay,PM
Try some other airlines but from my search there were non with connecting flights to Mandalay.

Hi, I was considering the same option for my trip in October but haven't find any flights yet. It looks like flights to/from Sittwe are only possible from Yangon...

Just a further thought. There have never been flights,as far as I can recall, from Sittwe to anywhere other than Yangon/Thandwe so if this route opened it would be a big first.

Thanks. I have emailed both AirKBZ and the agent to make sure. Indeed, it is not possible to book that flight on AirKBZ website. I taught it was due to the fact that they do not open their flight very much in advance. I will investigate more in depht all airlines.
Any survivor of the Mrauk U-Mandalay bus ride able to comment that journey?
I arrive in Yangon on November 12 and leave the country from Mandalay on December 10. My general plan for which I have already made some room reservations was: 3 days Yangon and surrounding; one week Moulmein-Hpa An; one week Inle-Kalaw,Pindaya-Taungyi Ballon fest.), 3-4 days in Bagan and the last two aroud Mandalay which left me 5-6 days for Mrauk U from central Myanmar. I rather see less but more in depht without running.
My other option is to go to Mrauk U back and forth from Yangon shortly after my arrival (a bit more expensive). Correct me if I did not get the general schedule correct: day 1 - flight to Sittwe; day 2 boat to Mrauk U; days 3 and 4 visit and river boat tour as option; day 5 ferry back to Sittwe, day 6, flight back to Yangon. Or, is it possible to catch the 15:05 flight from Sittwe to Yangon while taking the morning ferry from Mrauk U?

it should be possible to take the morning ferry down in time for a 3.05pm flight...the ferry leaves Mrauk-U at 7am most mornings (though I think now some mornings a faster boat goes). Allowing 6-6.5 hours for the boat trip, and it doesn't take long to get from the jetty to the airport...small risk, but doable...?

I would not take the boat/flight connection risk,very tight, so the only alternative (if there is the early 10.05 flight) is to overnight in Sittwe.

not the only alternative...the other option is hiring a private boat for the downriver trip, then you can leave Mrauk-U at 6am which would get you down to Sittwe with plenty of time.

There is a faster boat from Mrauk U to Sittwe; 3 hour trip for about $20. I confirmed this with the boat captain who can be reached at mraukukyawmoe@gmail.com . I'm planning to use his service from Mrauk U to catch the afternoon flight from Sittwe to Yangon.
