Hi,
Does anyone know is funds transfer (small amount < 100 dollar) is possible between Myanmar and any West European bank account ?
Are there other means to pay people in Myanmar for services rendered ?
Txs

It's not that easy to do, but it can be done.
The process involves you crediting a business in Myanmar who through contacts (usually a relative) outside of the country. You actually credit the bank of this broker or contact abroad (or off shore). Once the off shore contact has received the funds in their bank account, they will then advise their counter parts in Myanmar to give cash to the recipient in Myanmar.
I use this method all the time and have been doing so for the last 7 or 8 years to send money to family in Myanmar on a regular basis, once or twice a month. This is also how many Myanmar citizens working overseas send money home. It's largely based on trust and there are no guarantees, but in the last 8 years I've been doing this, I have not lost a cent. The Myanmar people I've dealt with are honest, trustworthy and efficient.
Where to find the brokers is the hard part. I use brokers located in various places around Australia as well as Thailand (in particular, in places such as Mae Sot and Chiang Mai).
I've also noticed that some of the travel agents in Myanmar have branches in Thailand as well and when you pay for services rendered, it's to a bank account in Thailand. It works on the same principal as the one I've described above.
It seems an expensive way maybe find someone to take it in for you, as I did for someone 4 years ago
don't trust posting it, as they like to open envelopes that might have money in them.

DHL does delivery to Myanmar, but it can be expensive. For one envelope I was quoted $63.00 and later I was given a 50% discount as a new customer. I read (somewhere) recently that most of the brokers for transferring money had dropped out so I don't know the status of that service. Whatever you do don't send money in cash. Just to test the mail I sent a small bill to a friend there and it was by registered mail. They got the letter minus the money so I didn't loose much and learned to not do it.
