Money changing: Yangon Vs. Nyaungshwe

Hiya everyone,

Nice to see this forum getting back to travel information... Please help me out on this one if you can.

I am staying in Nyaung Shwe on the 23rd Nov. I would like to go to a good festival on the evening but would like to return to my bed for 1am. Would it be better to arrange a return trip with a local driver when i get there? I dont wish to go on organised trip but would prefer to arrange private travel

why don't you arrange for a Taxi as we did first time there, quiet funny really 7 of us and the taxi driver he dropped us off and picked us up at midnight, back into Inle for 1am but book early!the Falang [foreign] enclosure might be best place for you golden oldie.

That is still a day hanging around Yangon and a rough night!
There is an alternative. You could still fly and change your money in Yangon.
You arrive at the international terminal and have to walk 5mins up the road to the domestic terminal. The airport and surrounds are full of money changers who will approach you.

My flight to Heho was at 11 or 11.45 am I think.

yep! thanks mose, I ended up Kuwait air 438 pounds ret UK never again as I always like a bottle of wine with my meal 3 hrs Kuawait airport nothing to write home about either, plus half the DVD sets were broken and leg room was not as much as some others flying the route . Now in Bangkok got visa this morning and will be in taungyyi and inle after 28th sick as a pig to miss the fest, anyone done Mrauk U ? want to go there this time as well if any of you have please pm me info before I fly hope you enjoed Inle and balloon fest burnermaxwell
