Hello, I contacted several guides from Loikaw and two of them told me these itineraies and prices. It can be useful for future travellers too.

Firts Guide:

Day (1), After arrival at the airport, drive to hotel, then drive to plantation field and visiting PaO tribe with traditional dresses and houses, drive to Dawtamagyi to visit Kayah tribe with traditional dresses and houses, and back to hotel. Car + guide + traditional lunch -150$

Day (2), After breakfast, drive to Demosoe market ( most famous market in Kayah state ), drive to Cherry Kon to make one hour hiking to 2 or 4 Kayah ( Padaung ) villages, then drive to Lisu village with traditional dresses and houses, and back to hotel. Car + guide + traditional lunch- 150$

Day (3), After breakfast, drive to Htay Ko to visit Kayaw tribe with traditional dresses and houses, and back to hotel. Car + guide + traditional lunch -160$

Second Guide:

For day(1) Lisu - Paoh s/s
Check-In to hotel first and proceed to Lisu village for fourty minutes drive by car. After that, visit a cave (Aung Thabyay) and Paoh villages. If time allows, go around (Totem, Kandarawadi hor, Famous Taung Kwe Paya)in Loikaw. = 70 USD (1-2 paxs)

Day (2) Kayaw tribe,
After morning breakfast, visit Demoso market first and continue to Hte Ko village for (2:30) hours by car = 140 USD (1-2 paxs)

Day (3) Kayan & Kayah tribe,
It takes about one hour to Kayan tribe (Panpet group; Pu Ku, Ran Ku, Daw Kie, Ka Thae Ku and Ban Ca) by car and soft trek. On the way back, go to Ta Nee Laleh village(Kayah tribe) = 70 USD (1-2 paxs)

***Outside Loikaw Town, permission is needed.
To apply for permission in advance to office for villages(a copy of passport and visa). Permission fee = 15 USD

**Guide fee = 35 USD per day
**
Some Donation in villages

The second one is cheaper and I visit the same tribes but different villages, do you know if one of them is more interesting that the other one? The most expensive one is from Clement that everyone speaks good things here.

Thank you

re Clemments prices...I did much the same itinerary with him in February. On 1 day I visited the Kayah villages and Pa-O which is on the way back anyway, and it cost me 1300,000 Kyat ($100 US). On another day we visited the Kayan (Padaung) villages and the Lisu village and that cost me 130,000 Kyat ($100 US).
So his prices he gives you for day 1 and day 2 are very expensive.
Another day I visited the Kayaw village and paid 130,000 Kyat ($100 US) but another person there very soon me after paid him $150 US for the Kayaw village.

Another problem with Clements is he can try and charge extra if it is more than 1 of you (if you try and share with someone else when you get there, to make it cheaper)...the second guide prices states 1-2 people.

Both guides will be taking you to the same villages, all the guides do.

DavidS...as I mentioned. Your days 1 and 2 with Clemment should only be $100...$130US for Day 1 and 2 is still quite expensive...the problem is if you agree to pay that then Clemments will start charging that for all customers.

I think $130 is a bit expensive. As I mentioned in your earlier post, for days 1 and 2 we bargained Clement down to $70 US Dollars last January. But it was part of a larger 3 day plan that included him arranging the boat trip up to Nyaung Shwe. We didn't even have to bargain hard. Rather than ask him for a lower price after getting his 1st quotes, we simply stated what we were willing to pay and he agreed immediately. However, with Loikaw so popular now and Clement the most in-demand of the guides, you might not get him that low. It is at least worth a try.
