We have been looking at internal flights to save time, but are getting confusing information as to whether it is necessary or possible to pre-book online before arriving. In a way we'd like the flexibility of not needing to but we have come across flights that it seems you cannot book before hand - are these bookable on the ground? In particular we fancy the idea of spending a couple of days at Ngapali beach at the end of our holiday, but cannot find flights to and from Thandwe (which we would like to pre-book to be sure of catching flight home from Yangon). Alternatively are there other quiet beaches that are easily accessible?

Sure they can be booked,KBZ,golden myanmar but usually only couple of months before.When are u going.U can also contact sevendiamondstravel.I recently used them for 4 domestic tickets and the prices were even bit cheaper than direct with airlines.Very reliable

Hi Frank, where would you be going to Ngapali from? The flights are interesting as for example there is a flight from Thandwe to Yangon, but I believe there are no flights from Yangon to Thandwe. That's what I heard at least. Also there are no direct flights between some places i.e. Bagan to Thandwe - you need to change in Heho. In any case, I recently booked a couple of internal flights through my agent in London and he has sorted it all. Can't wait for my trip mid-Jan! Happy travels

we had no problem booking flights to thandwe from heho, and to yangon from thandwe, with our domestic travel agent, pro niti travel. but it's true, you can't do this the other direction, from yangon to thandwe. all the flights follow the same pattern, it's rather strange!

several airlines fly between Yangon and Thandwe...
Only other 'direct' flight to Thandwe is from Heho.
OP - you don't mention WHEN you are going...but if during busy season then best to book a couple days beforehand - you can book tickets once there via agents or your guesthouse/.hotel...or pre-book online as most Myanmar airlines now have online booking and payment.
