Anyone else notice how freakishly blue the steams in Indein (Lake Inle) look. It was so blue I can only assume there is some kind of chemical dye leaking into the steam there. I am not referring to the main stream the speedboats travel up, but the stream around the village where people bathe and wash their clothes. Anyone else noticed this?

there are also similar rivers in Lao, i figured it was something to do with the limestone sediment in the water or something. looking forward to seeing what you're talking about in a month =D

I didn't notice that at Inle when I was there several years ago.
I did see a beautiful odd blue-toned small lake in Sumatra. The color was from the detergent used for washing.
My advice is: Don't drink the water!
