Delayed bus ticket booking with JJ Express?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. I've been corresponding with JJ-Express Highway Bus via Facebook Messenger regarding tickets for two different routes. They've been very capable communicators, but when I first inquired, on 15 Jan, they said they'd be in touch on Jan. 20, and they responded today, saying they could book us on the one route, but for the other (from Bagan to Yangon), they need me to wait until Feb 22 (we'll already be in country). Is that pretty standard for them? Does FB Messenger work OK inside Myanmar?

Thanks in advance for any advice or anecdotes you can share!

They are a very good compagnie. On time, do delay. i night traveled Nyaunshwe-Mandalay then Bagan-Yangon with them on VIP bus. I had bought both ticket at their Nyaugshwe office. Wifi is often very slow in some cities, especialy at Inle Lake, and it might explain the delay?

When you buy a ticket, a specific seat is asigned which is good. Make sure you have a confirmed seat which would come with payment I guess not just a reservation. VIP ticket includes meal and pick up from and delevery at your hotel or downtown in the case of Yangon. Except at Mandalay where we arrived at 3:30 am and had to take a 7000 kyats taxi to downtown at a distance dorm the bus terminal.

Relax , they are very reliable and the facebook messaging booking works very well even inside Myanmar.

They usually assign seats about a week before departure and thats the day you will get your confirmation message.

And yes , you will have a confirmed assigned seat even without any prepayment. You will get your ticket and pay for it when you enter the bus.

These guys just trust you and expect you to really turn up at the busstation ; until now it seems to work well ; lets hope that there wont be some stupid tourists ruining this booking scheme by not turning up.

Thanks for the responses! I did hear back from them, and the delay is just a standard procedural thing based on when they draw up bus assignments.
