I see posts about the brutality of the junta in Burma, and I am sure in large part they are a shitty lot.
What pisses me off about the country, and I worked there for three years, is the complete lack of interest that the junta take in the lot of the non-Tatmadaw (that's the army) citizens. This is a country that could be rich for everyone if these buggers moved aside.
I am sure they could do a deal where they transfer power over a few years and then toddle off to be bank presidents and the like, but they are greedy as well as stupid.

As Chevron said when they pulled out of the oil exploration deal off the coast of Sihanoukville in Cambodia recently; "We decided against the deal because of the incompetence and corruption of the Govt".
Loosely translated I think that means "greedy as well as stupid".
