Hello I’m planning the itinerary to Myanmar. This is a kind of draft.
I would like also to visit chin state and Mrauk U but it’s impossible.
I need your help for several questions.
Do you think the itinerary is ok?
Would you remove some place for going to another place more interesting?,
would you be more or fewer days in each place?
I’m getting crazy with this hehe, need advises and help . You can see I have Day 22 and 23 empty. Maybe I need more days for previous places or maybe I need fewer days in some places and then from Day 20 to 23 I can go to Chin State. I don’t know
Thank you Very Much

I don't think you have enough time in some places. Such as Hpa An for 1 day, its a long way to go, why not add Moulmein as well for 1-2 days. Why are you going to Loikaw? Bus to Hsipaw is a long one about 14 hours, I would check the security situation in that area, there has been trouble recently.

Chin state you really need at least 4 days to go there its a long way whichever way you go.

What month are you going?
Have you considered flying into or out of Mandalay?

Hello, Thank you for your reply. I'm traveling from 12th of September to 5th of October.
- I was thinking to go to Hpa-an by bus , I would get there at 2pm , and lI would be next day and another day after 9pm that the bus leave, do you think it's not enough?
- I want to go to Loikaw to visit the long neck women there, don't you recommend it?
- Yes I've heard about fights in Hspaw, maybe I have to avoit that
Thank you

It just seems a lot of travel time for just short time there, I generally stay 2 or 3 nights in each place. HAving gone there I think you could add another place. You could do a boat trip down to Moulmein then take bus or train back to Yangon.
I have not been to Loikaw, I think the long neck women are a bit of a tourist thing, I do have issues about this sort of thing.

Kyaukme is currently a contentious area with ongoing fighting in that area. It might be worth checking your Governments travel advise before going there otherwise your insurance might not cover traveling to that part of the Country!

The UK govt. advise only Kyaukme and Hsipaw towns are safe: "The FCO advise against all but essential travel to Shan State (North), except Lashio town (which includes the airport), Kyaukme town, Hsipaw town, and the train line from Mandalay to Lashio."

Trouble does seem to have escalated recently near Kyaukme.

Flooding is bad in Chin state at the moment so thats probably out as well, there is on going trouble in that area also and your insurance may not cover you.

The ongoing fighting in that general area of the country seems to be sporadic. Nothing can happen for some time but then it will all flare up again. Two German tourists were killed in the Kyaukme area a little while ago, So as I said, maybe check your Governments travel advice before deciding exactly where you want to Go!

The germans were not killed, they were wounded by a landmine, I don't think they were seriously injured. News reports are sketchy but still seems to be flare ups recently. Yes there was a bomb found at Hsipaw but did not go off.
