Thak you very much for all of your feedback, though it's not my first time in SE Asia, it's been a few years since i first went so your advice is very helpful. I only have 11 days till i leave the UK so a visa in Bangkok seems to be the best option. As for money, getting $700 in Bangkok will almost definately see me through the 3 1/2 weeks as i am on a bit of a budget so it seems more than enough from what i have read.
