In March, i will be on vacation for three month. Usually i fly to the east coast(San Fran native) and visit family for this long period of time but this year i want to surprise my grandmother whom live in Laos. i been there when i was sixteen and it wasn't a great experiences considering i spent most of the time bed ridding( i caught every type of flu, cold, and aches, possible) I'm twenty-six now with a stronger immune system(not to say i cant catch the sickness) i want to visit her since…

I have seached net, I feel quite well, however unable to find info relating to weather in nth Laos at end of january. I got cool and dry. One place said expect cold nights and frosts in the morning. Another site said 12 - 25degrees. Can anyone be of assistance. Thanks so much.

Does any one have any suggestions about the best way to get from Northern Laso to Hanoi? I have read that the other posts about how the over land crossings can be iffy due to the road conditions in Laos. I'm also hoping for the cheapest option. Thanks for your suggestions.

I've been traveling around Vietnam for 3 weeks and am now hooked on South East Asia, I love everything about Vietnam but I've a funny feeling both Laos and Cambodia will have their own beauty and would be good to explore.

I know this is an open ended questions but would you suggest Laos or Cambodia to travel to for 2/3 weeks?

Does anyone know a good baguette stall, preferably a famous place, i'm not talking about restaurants, or bakeries, just a baguette lady, on the side of the road that sells fresh baguettes? Maybe roasted over a charcoal fire? Would you be able to send me the address? I am already in Vientiane few days, and I still haven't found it. Some have told me they are only available for breakfast. But I'd like to have one for lunch. I am looking for the vegetarian baguette (without the egg). Thanks.

I am going to Luang Prabang in February with a group of friends and we really want to go bamboo rafting. We were considering going elephant riding too but were concerned about animal welfare. Most of the tours with bamboo rafting are at least 80USD and thought this was really steep!

Is it possible to just do the rafting cheaper in Luang Prabang maybe directly off a personal or small business rather than a big tour company.

Also with the elpehant riding are any of the places in Laung Prabang…

We are going to spend Christmas in Luang Prabang, I just wondered if anyone knows of somewhere to have a half decent Christmas dinner. Just somewhere nice, any (western) traditional options? Or if not maybe just a good restaurant serving Lao cuisine. Thanks for any advice...

We are thinking of flying from Luang Prabang to Vientiane in February . The Lao Central Airline web site is shown as "under construction" but I understand that the airline is already operating . Can anyone confirm this and provide a contact number or email for the airline and/or details of the flight times and the cost of a one way ticket .
