Been looking at air fares for this section. All seem incredibly expensive.Has anyone found a good price lately for a fare between anywhere in Laos to Eastern China/Hong Kong.
Few thoughts about the Gibbon Experience and their safety procedures or lack of them.
In October we (wife & I) took part in the Classic Tour consisting of 2 nights and 3 days of tree house living and zip lining. There were two incidents which might help to highlight certain safety problems with the operator.
First one happened on the third line coming in to tree house #8 on the first day afternoon. A man aged about 27 years and slightly heavily built, carrying an approx. 10 kg pack did not…
Hi all -
My Laos visa will expire next week and will get it extended as am not quite ready to leave yet. Quick question though as I am almost out of pages in my passport - do they just put a new stamp in your passport when you get it extended or it is a new whole page sticker?
Because if it is a new whole page sticker, I might need to curtail my trip as a new whole page sticker would render my passport almost unusable and am not quite ready to head home to get it renewed yet!
Many thanks,
Sa…

Hi everyone,
we will be making our way from Luang Namtha to Muang Ngoi Neua. Having stayed in Udomxai 5 years ago, we would prefer to give it a miss this time if possible.
One option seems to be to get off the bus to Lunang Prabang at Pak Mong, then make our way (somehow!) to Nong Khiaw etc. However, is there a road (and bus?) now directly Muang Ngoi Neua which might present a better option for us?
Any advice appreciated.
Hello Fellow travelers.
Do anybody know if it is possible to go from Attapeu to Ban Thang Beng on highway 18 ( not through Pakse )

Hi,
Has anyone done rock climbing with Green Discovery?
Or independent climbing in Luang Prabang or Vang Vieng? Do they rent gear?
How easy is it to find other people to climb with? Even just toproping?
I'm a competent climber, so don't want to do an instruction course, but I don't climb harder than 6a. Seems to me like Vang Vieng would be better, as there are more easier climbs?
I'll be flying in from Cambodia and need to get to Vientiane, but haven't decided yet whether to fly into LP or…
We will be traveling to Laos where our country does not have an embassy but we can, in a case of emergency, contact any embassy of EU member.
Out of these countries, which one out of these, would be your choice to contact and why?
Germany
France
Great Britain
thank you
Hello from the Lao PDR!
I just arrived and will be in LP for a few days and then I'll head south to VV.
I heard the scenery is amazing on the trip, however I'm toying with taking the morning bus or afternoon one. With the morning one, I can see all the scenery by daylight but I lose the day in transit. With the afternoon one, I can spend an extra morning in LP and I'll have light for some of the trip to VV but I'll arrive at night. Is the "best" scenery part of the trip in a particular spot on…
