Hello,

In short, my question is "Is it possible to get both Thailand and Myanmar visas to the same passport in Vientiane in less than 4 business days?"

From the internet looks like both visas can be obtained in two working days, but in both cases embassies are taking passport for the time of processing.
My friend cannot get Thailand visa on arrival, and he is currently in Canada (which is not his citizenship or residency country). It means, getting visa earlier or sending documents by post is not an option. We are independent travelers, so we are not using travel agencies for our Asia trip.
We are fast paced, and we wouldn't like spending a week (there would be a weekend between working days) in one city and around just because of the visa. My little research shows that we cannot get Thailand visa in any other Laos city, like Luang Prabang. We don't plan visiting Bangkok, so we cannot delay Myanmar visa to Thailand.
Do you have any ideas, how we could cut visa time shorter?
Is it mandatory to provide the departure ticket at the time of application (I found mixed information around it), or would it be enough to show the flight, departing Malaysia at the later date?
Much appreciate your help.

Can't help with the Myanmar visa but for the tThai one, drop your form & passport at the embassy and pick up the visa the following day. You can get a regular one month or a multi-entry 2 month visa. There was no charge for this last time I got one from the Vientiane embassy.
You can then deposit your Myanmar application the same day (day 2) that you get your passport back from the thai embassy.

^Thai tourist visas from the Vientiane consulate are either single or double entry, each entry is usually granted 60 days plus optional 30-day extension. Cost is 1000 baht per entry and extensions cost 1900 baht. It takes two days, apply 830am pickup next day 1pm. Closed weekends and Thai/Laos holidays.

There is also a Thai consulate in Savannakhet, but if you want to get both Myanmar and Thai visas, Vientiane is the only place where you can do both in one place.

Hi,
All the above info is correct but i have one more question. I ve heard it is possible to pay a fee at the thai embassy in vientiane to get your visa on the same day you apply (apply the form in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon of the same day). Does anyone know if this is true and if so what is the fee for fast procedure?

Thanks for any help!

I have been to Thai consulate in Vientiane today, and they have big sign, telling "No express processing" Also they tell they are not connected to any external parties, providing visa service for money, and whatever someone has promised, it wouldn't speed up visa application processing.
