And they work. Been bird-watching in SE Asia for 20 years and hardly got zapped since I discovered those.

If you are going trekking in Laos in or near forests / jungles you'll find a lot. I was pretty bloodied when I emerged from various walks and treks.

Didn't have a problem with them whatsoever in Cambodia though, even when doing walks "off-piste". Don't even recall seeing one while we were there tbh.

A lot of the forests in Cambodia (whats left of them) are dry dipterocarp forests, not a suitable habitat for leeches (and if you wait 5 years, neither Laos nor Cambodia will have any forest left).
