Sorry in advance but I could not find the answer to my question in prior threads!

I want to travel in Laos for 40 days. I do not want to be in Vientiane around the 30th day. If I get an "extension" in Vientiane does the extension start the day I get it, or does it add on to the end of my 30 days. For example, if I got an "extension" on the 20th day in Laos, would I have to pay for 10 days or 20 days?

Thanks,

David

This year I got my 12 days extension in Vientiane about 10 days before my visa expired - no problem. The time, of course, is added to your 30 days !!
It was quite easy, they took a xerox of my passport (2000 kip) I filled out the forms, paid U$ 2.00 per day of extension, and came back in the afternoon to pick up my passport. The imm.office is on the peripherie of downtown VTE.

KFC,

Thanks for your response! I realize what the word "extension" means but since it related to a visa, I did not want to "assume" that it was added to the end of the 30 days.

Again THANKS,

David
